Blogging from the CPA

On Sunday, a session was held on the future of the CPA. It produced a lively discussion. Many references were made to Dr. Mohan Matthen’s post over at New APPS from a few months back [linked here].

I also enjoyed a talk by Mark Rosner (Queens), on Frankfurt’s argument for the idea of ‘volitional necessity’. I share Rosner’s skepticism of Frankfurt’s ‘foundationalism’ about the things we care about (as it were), but am not at all convinced that we ought to abandon foundationalism about carings tout court.

Today, I’m looking forward to the session on practical reason and governance.
